Twas the Night before Christmas (Remix)

Posted

Twas the night before Christmas, in the Ace Hoops house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The relationships we’re building are built with His care,
In hopes that Christ’s love with all we can share;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of basketball playing in their heads;
While Kristen is laughing, Miss Em’s in her cap,
And I have just settled down for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the court there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from the house to see what’s the matter.
Away to the gymnasium we ran like a flash,
To see what has made such a startling crash.
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But a messenger sporting his basketball gear.
With handles so lively and moves just so quick,
We knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
His skills were so sound, as sound as they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called us by name;
“Now, DJ! now, Wanzay! now, Johnny and Dre!
Now, Kavan! Now, Dee, Alex and Deontre!
Play with courage and strength, staying true to your story!
Not forgetting to use your gifts for His Glory!
Live the life you’ve been given without any fear,
When met with an obstacle, press on! Persevere!!
Then up to the rafters-Jolly St. Nick flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and his wise words too.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to our team gave a whistle,
And away we played ball like Wade & Shaq-Dizzle,
But we heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”

From all of us at Ace Hoops, Merry Christmas!! Thanks for all of the love and support and prayers for this ministry. You are truly making a difference!!
