Things are picking up
The sun is finally shining and the temperatures finally reflect the month! Welcome to summer! We have officially wrapped up another successful school year of programming. Thanks for all your support and generosity! Together, we have served over 100 kids and families in the Powderhorn Community, provided over 1,000 meals and rides to/from the park, enhanced literacy skills, and been blessed with over 100 volunteers investing in our programs. (Some are even moving into the neighborhood!) Thank you. We couldn’t do this without you!
In years’ past, June has been more of a quieter month. NOT THIS YEAR! Three big things are happening this month:
(1) We are so excited to be moving Kristen Hannack, our program coordinator, to almost full-time status. It’s been a long-time coming, and we’re excited to let her loose on even more projects. Her heart for our kids and this community is second to none. (Thanks for helping to make this happen!)
(2) We launch our summer partnership with Eleven10 Enterprises. This is an unbelievable summer entrepreneurial and leadership development opportunity for our students to hold a summer job, learn the skills of it, infused with a biblical approach to character formation. Deontre and Dre will be our first students enrolled in this program! Pray for them and this experience.
(3) We’re partnering with Urban Ventures in putting on a basketball camp for over 150 students from our neighborhood! The camp will serve boys and girls in grades 5-12. Basketball is a language, and if we can become fluent, we can impact those who speak it! Excited to partner with an amazing ministry in our community.
God’s Kingdom is at its best when we’re working together! That’s what Christ desired for the Church–to be working with unity and moving together. Excited about our growing relationships with other local ministries. Even more excited about our growing relationships with you! Thanks for your investment! As we grow, continued prayers are needed!
Be strong and courageous.
