Our Commitment to Anti-Racism
Ace In The City celebrates the inherent worth of all people and is committed to consistently correcting any policy or practice that denigrates the dignity of our neighbors, community, or staff. We recognize the historical and present-day societal constructs which elevate the personhood of some, to the disadvantage of others.
We will make every effort, in all facets of our work, to be that which exposes and corrects all acts of racism and oppression. With a vision to cultivate a community of belonging, we acknowledge unequal opportunity that hinders a sense of belonging for many Black and Brown members of our community. We will optimize our resources and power to bring equity to these systems. It is our intent to utilize every resource in reach to liberate our neighbors, community, constituents and staff from conscious or unconscious internalized belief antithetical to the gospel of Christ.
Whether racial injustice is embodied as a sense of superiority or inferiority, we invite all to hold us accountable to our devotion to correcting this belief within ourselves. With each correction we will strive to honor the God whose image is realized in every person and celebrated by their race, ethnicity, and country of origin.
We recognize that our commitment to this work is political, theological, ideological and practical. We submit to the example of God in Christ, who was political, theological, ideological and practical. This statement is our commitment to do what is good according to the Lord, to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.” Micah 6:8
